Rubicon is a software design and development company, working for Global Xchange, a youth life experience charity, giving young people the chance to volunteer within communities around the world.
The Business Challenge
Rubicon was tasked with delivering a SharePoint intranet system for Global Xchange and engaged Centric IT to provide a fully managed Windows web server that was fully installed and would receive software upgrades, server updates, ongoing support and issue fixing when needed. The client required the only upfront cost to be the setup fee.
The Centric Solution
The client had very precise requirements for the server setup, and we worked closely with them to ensure we extracted and met these exact requirements. The client required the latest versions of all software. We installed the server with SharePoint 2010, SQL Server 2008, Windows 2008 and enough RAM and disk space to allow backups. We configured SharePoint to the required system setup to ensure the installation of the system’s user interface for Rubicon was easy and a smooth trouble-free process.
Results
Rubicon received exactly what was required, with no compromise, allowing the company to provide Global Xchange with exactly what it wanted. We provided an affordable monthly software rental to minimise up-front costs and sourced a ‘charity rate’ for the software to further increase affordability.
