Global Tax Network provides U.K., U.S. and Canadian tax planning and compliance services to individuals moving to and from the U.K.; in addition, assisting companies with the tax administration of international assignment programs.

The Business Challenge

Global Tax Network needed to carry out a complete overhaul of their existing IT infrastructure, spanning two UK offices in Guildford and London. With the Guildford office suffering repeated power cuts affecting both offices, it was essential the old system was replaced, with the existing onsite equipment solution taken offsite. Fast access to tax software programs with common databases was required, with the added challenge of relatively slow internet connections to overcome. In addition, they wanted to have a fast and fully supported system that could be accessed from anywhere with an Internet connection.

The Centric Approach

We worked closely with the client to immerse ourselves in their business, ensuring we gained a comprehensive understanding of their requirements and working practices. We conducted a full infrastructure audit to ensure the proposed system was compatible with their current system, providing the optimum solution to solve the business challenge.

The Centric Solution

We implemented a remote desktop solution, giving all users access to the same system and data, regardless of location. Hosted offsite on a virtual hosting platform, the system was independent of localised issues, such as power cuts. The system was placed within a secure data centre, providing fast access and excellent availability. All virtual hardware and software was provided as a rented solution and fully supported and maintained.

Results

The client has achieved very fast access to all required software applications from any PC, anywhere in the world with a broadband connection, increasing working efficiencies within the organisation. They are no longer reliant on office-based resources, providing the very minimum of downtime in the event of problems at the office.

The solution has increased efficiencies for the organisation on a global scale, with the system providing the ability to utilise staff resource located in any country, to relocate staff quickly and easily and to add additional staff users during peak operating periods as and when required.

Response times to customers have been reduced considerably, giving a marked increase in customer satisfaction, with data security also benefiting from the system, with all data remaining in one location, reducing the chance of data loss or leakage.

The entire fully supported system was provided on a fixed monthly cost, with no requirement for large upfront capital outlay, giving the client the best solution for their business, without the concern of funding investment in expensive hardware and software.
